About this statement

This statement applies to the Xcademia website, run by Xcademia Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it.

The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to us, because we are a private company. Our obligations come from the Equality Act 2010, which requires us to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people can use our services. We have chosen to follow the format of the GOV.UK accessibility statement model because it is clear and familiar.

Our aim is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not yet reached that standard in every area, and we do not claim full conformance.

What you can do on this website

The site is built to work with the tools many people use to browse. You should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 200% without losing content or function, and use browser zoom or text-only zoom to reach larger sizes, including 400% in a standard desktop browser
  • use the site with a keyboard alone, including a "Skip to main content" link at the top of each page
  • use a screen reader, as pages declare their language as British English and use headings, landmarks and labels to give structure
  • view pages on a phone, tablet or desktop screen
  • change colours, contrast or text size through your own browser or device settings

AbilityNet has free advice on making your device easier to use (opens in a new tab) if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We are working towards WCAG 2.2 AA across the site. We know that some parts are not yet fully accessible, and we list the issues we are aware of below. This list may not be complete.

Known limitations

  • PDF documents. Some downloadable PDFs are not fully accessible. In particular, the Training Quality Assurance Report 2026 PDF is untagged, which makes it harder for screen reader users to navigate. The same content is available as an accessible web page.
  • Third-party content. Some content is provided by other organisations and is outside our direct control, such as the payment provider's checkout and the certificate verification widget. These may not be fully accessible, and we are not able to fix them ourselves.
  • Independent audit. We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit, so we cannot say we have met every WCAG 2.2 AA criterion.
  • User-supplied and older content. Some images, course materials or older pages may be missing text alternatives or may have unclear link text or headings. We fix these as we find them.

If you cannot use part of the website, tell us and we will help you get the information or service another way.

Feedback and contact

If you find a problem that is not listed here, or if you need information in a different format, such as large print, an accessible document, audio or plain text, please contact us:

Tell us the web address of the page, what the problem is, and the assistive technology you use if that is relevant. We will consider your request and work with you on a suitable alternative. If you are a learner who needs adjustments to take part in training, see our Learner Support and Reasonable Adjustments Policy.

If you are not happy with our response

If you are unhappy with how we respond, you can use our Complaints and Appeals Procedure. You can also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) (opens in a new tab), which gives free advice on discrimination and equality issues, or seek independent advice about your rights under the Equality Act 2010.

How we test and keep improving

We check the site using a mix of manual checks and automated tools. Manual checks include keyboard-only navigation, zoom and reflow, and testing with screen readers on key pages. Automated tools help us find common issues such as missing labels and low contrast. Automated tools find only some problems, so we do not rely on them alone.

We check new pages and features before release and fix reported issues as a priority. We plan to commission an independent accessibility audit and will update this statement when we have the results. This statement was prepared on 20 October 2026 and will be reviewed at least annually, and when we make significant changes to the site.
